Todays goose banding was a successful one. We banded 202 geese and caught 25 previously banded birds for a total of 227. A very good day and we were done by 1pm.

did you get a chance to band any birds on the grand river and if so how many
202 sounds like a good day for this area
is this the only banding this year because if there is another i would like to help

We banded 96 in the Holland area the rest on the Grand. We won't band again in this area until 2010. Next year we go South.

My son, my friend and I were there for three of the captures and I had loads of fun. Everything went real smooth and I will for sure do this again.

I am very happy that the goose banding went well.

do you think that it would be a good idea to talk about goose banding and what it is used for on the radio program?
I'm thinking that we could do a show now to talk about why we band and what are the other things that can be done during the summer months to enhance the habitats and, in turn, better the sport of hunting as well as increase the health of the gaggles.
Do you think that we could talk for about 45 minutes and make it one of our pre-recorded programs?
